On A Political Prisoner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACBC DCDCCE CCCCCC FCFCCC

She that but little patience knewA
From childhood on had now so muchB
A grey gull lost its fear and flewA
Down to her cell and there alitC
And there endured her fingers' touchB
And from her fingers ate its bitC
-
Did she in touching that lone wingD
Recall the years before her mindC
Became a bitter an abstract thingD
Her thought some popular enmityC
Blind and leader of the blindC
Drinking the foul ditch where they lieE
-
When long ago I saw her rideC
Under Ben Bulben to the meetC
The beauty of her country sideC
With all youth's lonely wildness stirredC
She seemed to have grown clean and sweetC
Like any rock bred sea borne birdC
-
Sea borne or balanced on the airF
When first it sprang out of the nestC
Upon some lofty rock to stareF
Upon the cloudy canopyC
While under its storm beaten breastC
Cried out the hollows of the seaC
