Come Gather Round Me, Parnellites Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEAE FGHIJAFA FKLKBEBE MDNDOAIA

Come gather round me ParnellitesA
And praise our chosen manB
Stand upright on your legs awhileC
Stand upright while you canB
For soon we lie where he is laidD
And he is undergroundE
Come fill up all those glassesA
And pass the bottle roundE
-
And here's a cogent reasonF
And I have many moreG
He fought the might of EnglandH
And saved the Irish poorI
Whatever good a farmer's gotJ
He brought it all to passA
And here's another reasonF
That parnell loved a lassA
-
And here's a final reasonF
He was of such a kindK
Every man that sings a songL
Keeps Parnell in his mindK
For Parnell was a proud manB
No prouder trod the groundE
And a proud man's a lovely manB
So pass the bottle roundE
-
The Bishops and the partyM
That tragic story madeD
A husband that had sold hiS wifeN
And after that betrayedD
But stories that live longestO
Are sung above the glassA
And Parnell loved his countreyI
And parnell loved his lassA
