Finch & Frog Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCD EEFF ADG DDDHH CCCC

The finch trills in the apple treeA
His TirilireeA
A frog climbs slowly up to himB
Up to the treetop's leafy rimB
And puffs right up and croaks quot HalloooC
Ol' chum see I c'n do it too quotD
-
And as the bird his song of springE
So sweetly to the world doth singE
The frog chimes in with sassy tonesF
And interjects his bassy dronesF
-
The finch exclaims quot O Joy hurrayA
I'll fly away quotD
And springs into the azure skyG
-
-
quot Hah quot cries the frog quot Well so kin I quotD
He makes a most ungainly boundD
And splats onto the bare hard groundD
He's pancake flat and that's no jokeH
He's croaked his very final croakH
-
If someone climbs laboriouslyC
Into the branches of a treeC
And thinks himself a bird to beC
Wrong is heC
