Driftwood Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDC EFEDDF

Black spars of driftwood burn to peacock flamesA
Sea emeralds and sea purples and sea bluesB
And all the innumerable ever changing huesB
That haunt the changeless deeps but have no namesA
Flicker and spire in our enchanted sightC
And as we gaze the unsearchable mysteryD
The unfathomed cold salt magic of the seaD
Shines clear before us in the quiet nightC
-
We know the secret that Ulysses soughtE
That moonstruck mariners since time beganF
Snatched at a drowning hazard strangely broughtE
To our homekeeping hearts in drifting sparsD
We chanced to kindle under the cold starsD
The secret in the ocean heart of manF
