| A single overwhelming wish to build | C |
| Not hastily for there is so much wind | B |
| So many eager smilers to be killed | C |
| Obstructions one might overlook in haste | D |
| The ruined structures cluttering the past | E |

| A little at a time and slow is best | F |
| Crawling as though through endless corridors | G |
| Remembering always there are many doors | H |
| That open to admit the captured guest | F |
| Once only | I |
| Yet in spite of loss and guilt | J |
| And hurricanes of time it might be built | J |
