The Death Of Artemidora Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLEMNNOPQE RS

ARTEMIDORA Gods invisibleA
While thou art lying faint along the couchB
Have tied the sandal to thy veined feetC
And stand beside thee ready to conveyD
Thy weary steps where other rivers flowE
Refreshing shades will waft thy wearinessF
Away and voices like thine own come nighG
Soliciting nor vainly thy embraceH
Artemidora sigh d and would have press dI
The hand now pressing hers but was too weakJ
Fate s shears were over her dark hair unseenK
While thus Elpenor spake he look d intoL
Eyes that had given light and life erewhileE
To those above them those now dim with tearsM
And watchfulness Again he spake of joyN
Eternal At that word that sad word joyN
Faithful and fond her bosom heav d once moreO
Her head fell back one sob one loud deep sobP
Swell d through the darken d chamber t was not hersQ
With her that old boat incorruptibleE
Unwearied undiverted in its courseR
Had plash d the water up the farther strandS
