On The Conflagration Of The Po Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDBEFGHAIJKLMNO

Why is and whence the Po in flames and whyA
In consternation do its borderers raiseB
Imploring hands to mortal men aroundC
And Gods above Are Gods implacableD
Or men bereft of sight at such a blazeB
Apollo hath no more a son his breathE
Is stifled and smoke only fills the airF
Where once was fire and men to men were trueG
Fierce ones and faithless now approach the wasteH
Who look transversely with an evil eyeA
And scowl and threaten and uplift the swordI
And if they lower it 'tis but to grasp moreJ
And more of amber left on either bank Apollo hates the land he once so lovedK
Nor swan is seen nor nightingale is heardL
Nigh the dead river and affrighted valeM
For every Nymph shed there incessant tearsN
And into amber hardened all they shedO
