Tit For Tat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DDE AFDF AGHG AIBI

Have you been catching fish Tom NoddyA
Have you snared a weeping hareB
Have you whistled 'No Nunny' and gunned a poor bunnyC
Or blinded a bird of the airB
-
Have you trod like a murderer through the green woodsD
Through the dewy deep dingles and gloomsD
While every small creature screamed shrill to Dame NatureE
'He comes and he comes '-
-
Wonder I very much do Tom NoddyA
If ever when off you roamF
An ogre from space will stoop a lean faceD
And lug you homeF
-
Lug you home over his fence Tom NoddyA
Of thorn sticks nine yards highG
With your bent knees strung round his old iron gunH
And your head a dan dangling byG
-
And hung you up stiff on a hook Tom NoddyA
From a stone cold pantry shelfI
Whence your eyes will glare in an empty stareB
Till you are cooked yourselfI
