They Told Me Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FFFF

They told me Pan was dead but IA
Oft marvelled who it was that sangB
Down the green valleys languidlyC
Where the grey elder thickets hangB
-
Sometimes I thought it was a birdD
My soul had charged with sorceryE
Sometimes it seemed my own heart heardD
Inland the sorrow of the seaE
-
But even where the primrose setsF
The seal of her pale lovelinessF
I found amid the violetsF
Tears of an antique bitternessF
