The Vacant Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD BEBE FGFH IBIB

As I did walk in meadows greenA
I heard the summer noon resoundB
With call of myriad things unseenA
That leapt and crept upon the groundB
-
High overhead the windless airC
Throbbed with the homesick coursing cryD
Of swallows that did everywhereC
Wake echo in the skyD
-
Beside me too clear waters coursedB
Which willow branches lapsing lowE
Breaking their crystal gliding forcedB
To sing as they did flowE
-
I listened and my heart was dumbF
With praise no language could expressG
Longing in vain for him to comeF
Who had breathed such blessednessH
-
On this fair world wherein we passI
So chequered and so brief a stayB
And yearned in spirit to learn alasI
What kept him still awayB
