The Seas Of England Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFG HIJK CBBC

The seas of England are our old delightA
Let the loud billow of the shingly shoreB
Sing freedom on her breezes evermoreB
To all earth s ships that sailing heave in sightA
-
The gaunt sea nettle be our fortitudeC
Sturdily blowing where the clear wave sipsD
O be the glory of our men and shipsD
Rapturous woe unheeding hardihoodC
-
There is great courage in a land that hathE
Liberty guarded by the unearthly seasF
And ev n to find peace at the last in theseF
How many a sailor hath sailed down to deathG
-
Their names are like a splendour in an old songH
Their record shines like bays along the yearsI
Their jubilation is the cry man hearsJ
Sailing sun fronted the vast deeps amongK
-
The seas of England are our old delightC
Let the loud billow of the shingly shoreB
Sing freedom on her breezes evermoreB
To all earth s ships that sailing heave in sightC
