Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFFF| Up on their brooms the Witches stream | A |
| Crooked and black in the crescent's gleam | A |
| One foot high and one foot low | B |
| Bearded cloaked and cowled they go | B |
| 'Neath Charlie's Wane they twitter and tweet | C |
| And away they swarm 'neath the Dragon's feet | C |
| With a whoop and a flutter they swing and sway | D |
| And surge pell mell down the Milky Way | D |
| Betwixt the legs of the glittering Chair | E |
| They hover and squeak in the empty air | E |
| Then round they swoop past the glimmering Lion | F |
| To where Sirius barks behind huge Orion | F |
| Up then and over to wheel amain | F |
| Under the silver and home again | F |
