The Mermaids Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDAD EFEFGEH IJIKLMIM

Sand sand hills of sandA
And the wind where nothing isB
Green and sweet of the landA
No grass no treesC
No bird no butterflyD
But hills hills of sandA
And a burning skyD
-
Sea sea mounds of the seaE
Hollow and dark and blueF
Flashing incessantlyE
The whole sea throughF
No flower no jutting rootG
Only the floor of the seaE
With foam afloatH
-
Blow blow winding shellsI
And the watery fishJ
Deaf to the hidden bellsI
In the water splashK
No streaming gold no eyesL
Watching along the wavesM
But far blown shells faint bellsI
From the darkling cavesM
