Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GBHBIJDJ KBLBHMDM

They dressed us up in blackA
Susan and Tom and meB
And walking through the fieldsC
All beautiful to seeB
With branches high in the airD
And daisy and buttercupE
We heard the lark in the cloudsF
In black dressed upE
-
They took us to the gravesG
Susan and Tom and meB
Where the long grasses growH
And the funeral treeB
We stood and watched and the windI
Came softly out of the skyJ
And blew in Susan's hairD
As I stood close byJ
-
Back through the fields we cameK
Tom and Susan and meB
And we sat in the nursery togetherL
And had our teaB
And looking out of the windowH
I heard the thrushes singM
But Tom fell asleep in his chairD
He was so tired poor thingM
