The Buckle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DCCC CEFE GHCH

I had a silver buckleA
I sewed it on my shoeB
And 'neath a sprig of mistletoeC
I danced the evening throughB
-
I had a bunch of cowslipsD
I hid 'em in a grotC
In case the elves should come by nightC
And me remember notC
-
I had a yellow ribandC
I tied it in my hairE
That walking in the gardenF
The birds might see it thereE
-
I had a secret laughterG
I laughed it near the wallH
Only the ivy and the windC
May tell of it at allH
