The Bookworm Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFGHIJIKALA

'I'm tired Oh tired of books ' said JackA
'I long for meadows greenB
And woods where shadowy violetsC
Nod their cool leaves betweenB
I long to see the ploughman strideD
His darkening acres o'erE
To hear the hoarse sea waters driveF
Their billows 'gainst the shoreG
I long to watch the sea mew wheelH
Back to her rock perched mateI
Or where the breathing cows are housedJ
Lean dreaming o'er the gateI
Something has gone and ink and printK
Will never bring it backA
I long for the green fields againL
I'm tired of books ' said JackA

David van Eyck: This harks back to a time when we were removed a single step from reality. We have now "progressed" to TV and device screens to inspire us!
