The Birthnight: To F Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDDEFEF

Dearest it was a nightA
That in its darkness rocked Orion's starsB
A sighing wind ran faintly whiteA
Along the willows and the cedar boughsC
Laid their wide hands in stealthy peace acrossD
The starry silence of their antique mossD
No sound save rushing airE
Cold yet all sweet with SpringF
And in thy mother's arms couched weeping thereE
Thou lovely thingF
