Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH

Puss loves man's winter fireA
Now that the sun so soonB
Leaves the hours cold it warmedC
In burning JuneB
-
She purrs full length beforeD
The heaped up hissing blazeE
Drowsy in slumber downF
Her head she laysE
-
While he with whom she dwellsG
Sits snug in his inglenookH
Stretches his legs to the flameI
And reads his bookH
