The coursers of the dark stamp down to drink | B |
Arch their wild necks lift their wild heads and neigh | C |
Their drivers gathering at the water brink | B |
With eyes ashine from out their clustering hair | D |
Utter their hollow speech or gaze afar | E |
Rapt in irradiant reverie to where | D |
Languishes lost in light the evening star | E |

Come the wood nymphs to dance within the glooms | F |
Calling these charioteers with timbrels' din | G |
Ashen with twilight the dark forest looms | F |
O'er the nocturnal beasts that prowl within | G |
O glory of beauty which the world makes fair | D |
Pant they their serenading on the air | D |

Sound the loud hooves and all abroad the sky | H |
The lusty charioteers their stations take | I |
Planet to planet do the sweet Loves fly | H |
And in the zenith silver music wake | I |
Cities of men in blindness hidden low | J |
Fume their faint flames to that arched firmament | A |
But all the dwellers in the lonely know | J |
The unearthly are abroad and weary and spent | A |
With rush extinguished to their dreaming go | J |
And world and night and star enclustered space | F |
The glory of beauty are in one enravished face | F |
