Five Eyes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCCDDEEFGF

In Hans' old Mill his three black catsA
Watch the bins for the thieving ratsA
Whisker and claw they crouch in the nightB
Their five eyes smouldering green and brightB
Squeaks from the flour sacks squeaks from whereC
The cold wind stirs on the empty stairC
Squeaking and scampering everywhereC
Then down they pounce now in now outD
At whisking tail and sniffing snoutD
While lean old Hans he snores awayE
Till peep of light at break of dayE
Then up he climbs to his creaking millF
Out come his cats all grey with mealG
Jekkel and Jessup and one eyed JillF
