A Widow's Weeds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDAAEEAAAAAAAA

A poor old Widow in her weedsA
Sowed her garden with wild flower seedsA
Not too shallow and not too deepB
And down came April drip drip dripC
Up shone May like gold and soonD
Green as an arbour grew leafy JuneD
And now all summer she sits and sewsA
Where willow herb comfrey bugloss blowsA
Teasle and pansy meadowsweetE
Campion toadflax and rough hawksbitE
Brown bee orchis and Peals of BellsA
Clover burnet and thyme she smellsA
Like Oberon's meadows her garden isA
Drowsy from dawn to dusk with beesA
Weeps she never but sometimes sighsA
And peeps at her garden with bright brown eyesA
And all she has is all she needsA
A poor Old Widow in her weedsA
