Days I Enjoy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJIKLMNDays I enjoy are days when nothing happens | A |
When I have no engagements written on my block | B |
When no one comes to disturb my inward peace | C |
When no one comes to take me away from myself | D |
And turn me into a patchwork a jig saw puzzle | E |
A broken mirror that once gave a whole reflection | F |
Being so contrived that it takes too long a time | G |
To get myself back to myself when they have gone | H |
The years are too strickly measured and life too short | I |
For me to afford such bits of myself to my friends | J |
And what have I to give my friends in the last resort | I |
An awkwardness a shyness and a scrap | K |
No thing that's truly me a bootless waste | L |
A waste of myself and them for my life is mine | M |
And theirs presumably theirs and cannot touch | N |
