The Poet Care Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEFE GGGG

CARE is a Poet fineA
He works in shade or shineA
And leaves you know his signA
No day without its lineA
-
He writes with iron penB
Upon the brows of menB
Faint lines at first and thenB
He scores them in againB
-
His touch at first is lightC
On Beauty s brow of whiteC
The old churl loves to writeC
On foreheads broad and brightC
-
A line for young love crossedD
A line for fair hopes lostD
In an untimely frostD
A line that means Thou WastD
-
Then deeper script appearsE
The furrows of dim fearsE
The traces of old tearsF
The tide marks of the yearsE
-
To him with sight made strongG
By suffering and wrongG
The brows of all the throngG
Are eloquent with songG
