Sea-gifts Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BC CB AA DE FG GF HH AA

Give thou a gift to meA
From thy treasure house O seaA
-
Said a red lipped laughing girlB
While the summer yet was youngC
-
And the sea laughed back and flungC
At her feet a priceless pearlB
-
Give thou a gift to meA
From thy treasure house O seaA
-
Said the maiden once againD
On a night of wind and rainE
-
Like a ghost the moon above herF
Stared through winding sheets of cloudG
-
On the sand in sea weed shroudG
Lay the pale corpse of her loverF
-
Which is better gain or lossH
Which is nobler crown or crossH
-
We shall know these things maybeA
When the dead rise from the seaA
