Muses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKDK LMCM ENAN OEPE ADJD

The Muse who comes each morningA
In rozy gauze is cladB
Her head is crowned with flowersC
Her eyes are clear and gladB
-
Upon her virgin bosomD
Bloom lilies of white fireE
Her tender heart a rose isF
Of delicate desireE
-
She is the gentle GoddessG
Who rules the dreams of youthH
Her wonderful sweet storiesI
Are truer than the truthH
-
The Muse that comes at midnightJ
When lamps of revel shineK
Her robe is laburnumD
All splashed with crimson wineK
-
Upon her head defiantL
She wears a vine leaf crownM
And on her naked shouldersC
Her hair is hanging downM
-
And she at times is palerE
And paler than the deadN
But O her lips are burningA
And O her lips are redN
-
She lifts a brimming gobletO
She spills three drops on the floorE
Drink deep and kiss your lemanP
For Death is at the doorE
-
The gentle Muse of MorningA
Comes now no more to meD
But with the Muse of MidnightJ
I revel royallyD
