Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBCDEDEDE| The awful seers of old who wrote in words | A |
| Like drops of blood great thoughts that through the night | B |
| Of ages burn as eyes of lions light | B |
| Deep jungle dusks who smote with songs like swords | C |
| The soul of man on its most secret chords | C |
| And made the heart of him a harp to smite | B |
| Where are they Where that old man lorn of sight | B |
| The king of song among these laurelled lords | C |
| But where are all the ancient singing spheres | D |
| That burst through chaos like the summer's breath | E |
| Through ice bound seas where never seaman steers | D |
| Burnt out Gone down No star remembereth | E |
| These stars and seers well silenced through the years | D |
| The songless years of everlasting death | E |
