Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGHGH IJIJKLKL MNMNOPOP

WHEN the sap runs up the treeA
And the vine runs o er the wallB
When the blossom draws the beeA
From the forest comes a callB
Wild and clear and sweet and strangeC
Many tongued and murmuringD
Like the river in the rangeC
Tis the joyous voice of SpringD
On the boles of grey old treesE
See the flying sunbeams playF
Mystic soundless melodiesE
A fantastic march and gayF
But the young leaves hear them harkG
How they rustle every oneH
And the sap beneath the barkG
Hearing leaps to meet the sunH
-
Oh the world is wondrous fairI
When the tide of life s at floodJ
There is magic in the airI
There is music in the bloodJ
And a glamour draws us onK
To the distance rainbow spannedL
And the road we tread uponK
Is the road to FairylandL
-
Lo the elders hear the sweetM
Voice and know the wondrous songN
And their ancient pulses beatM
To a tune forgotten longN
And they talk in whispers lowO
With a smile and with a sighP
Of the years of long agoO
And the roving days gone byP
