Come Back Africans Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDD EFGHI JKIL MMHHA

Down the way sideA
A black beautiful woman was seenB
Her heart full of bitternessC
Tears about make an oceanD
Unlike the dope of fashionD
-
Then she was askedE
Beautiful is thy faceF
But ugly is thy heartG
Offspring denies thy motherH
Running to thy oppositeI
-
Theft in my householdJ
Left none of mineK
Offspring gone to oppositeI
Leaving me alone and lonelyL
-
If thou sees my offspringM
Feeling the taste of a springM
Thou shouldn't forget thy motherH
Oh Offspring come back to thy motherH
Leaving the opposite asideA
