The Good Heart Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHH

They told me once a heart that is kindA
will always find joy with peace intertwinedA
But I have wandered with hope in my chestB
and learned how the gentle are often distressedB
-
I trusted the voices the smiles that I sawC
believing in mercy in love without flawC
Yet silence returned and shadows grew nearD
the good heart was wounded by all it held dearD
-
It dreamed of the sunlight it longed for the rainE
but kindness was answered with sorrow and painE
Still though it falters it beats through the nightF
a lantern that flickers yet clings to the lightF
-
So sing of the heart that suffers yet staysG
that rises from ashes through countless decaysG
For broken it may be but never apartH
the world cannot silence a brave good heartH
