At thirty I should have been a motherA
But a childless women is what I botherA
-
Out several gentles have kicked meB
Many have been done to make things beB
-
Here sit I abandoned and barrenC
When all on my head is gray who will take my burdenC
-
A down to earth wifeD
Still childless with the endless stiveD
-
And my eyes seeing baby mothersE
Who do not even want to be mothersE
-
Frustration has burst my heartF
Ever been dejected since things startF
-
Never in my hand has a baby criedG
Having tried tirelessly to see baby sleep on my sideG
-
Mates aren't tired to put me on their lipsH
As the hope of being a mother creepsI
-
At least with one to sing and playJ
Even if your coming is just a dayJ
-
That can quench my sorrowK
Let talkers talk new talks tomorrowK
