Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGA HIJK FALMN OILP

Yesterday I hired a Chinese interpreterA
and i was speaking to the young generation in my villageB
Of the future being brightC
and the perfections it holdsD

Of the many rich friendsE
the future comes with andF
the various luxuries thatG
accompany the futureA
-
Of the strength in menH
the beauty in womenI
and the various opportunitiesJ
like being in the armyK
-
Of one being a president andF
sitting on the throne foreverA
for our village to enjoy theL
privileges that come withM
one of usN
-
Of you need not to do anythingO
for the future path is a paved oneI
and the light at the end of theL
tunnel is always realP

Poet's note: It's an ironic poem about a failing community that has blind folded the young people into thinking everything is going on well in the community yet it's at the very of it's collapse. I wrote it for my community. Sad and hopeless.
