Mt. Lykaion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDBCDEFFEGG

Alone on Lykaion since man hath beenA
Stand on the height two columns where at restB
Two eagles hewn of gold sit looking EastC
Forever and the sun goes down betweenD
Far down the mountain's oval greenD
An order keeps the falling stones abreastB
Below within the chaos last and leastC
A river like a curl of light is seenD
Beyond the river lies the even seaE
Beyond the sea another ghost of skyF
O God support the sickness of my eyeF
Lest the far space and long antiquityE
Suck out my heart and on this awful groundG
The great wind kill my little shell with soundG
