Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHIJ KLML NONO APAP QRQR BSBS

Lo the Beast that riotethA
Sick with hate and covetingB
To the sons of men he saithA
I will show you a new thingB
-
This the Earth which was the Lord'sC
Prodigal of rose and vineD
I will desolate with swordsC
Till it own that it is mineD
-
Every brow must bear my brandE
Every wrist must wear my steelF
Every throat be for my handE
Every neck be for my heelF
-
I will thrust into your soulsG
Unnamed terrors and despairsH
Populate the air with ghoulsI
And the sea with murderersJ
-
While I prove that war is warK
Saints shall mourn and angels weepL
Star commiserate with starM
Deep cry out to shuddering deepL
-
Tigers marvel in their lustN
At the tale of blood and painO
Pity move the insensate dustN
And the very stones complainO
-
I will twist the tongue of TruthA
Till her speech be nought but liesP
I will kill the faith of YouthA
And the hope in Age's eyesP
-
Not the altar nor the tombQ
Nor the Sufferer on the TreeR
Nor the babe within the wombQ
Shall be sacred unto meR
-
I will rend and rage and cogB
Rob and ravish till I dieS
I will be the Supreme HogB
And the world shall be my styS
