And there shall be no night there and theyA
need no candle and neither light of the sunB
for the Lord God giveth them LightC
-
-
Your place is Heaven a stormless nightless homeD
Then we twain never more shall live togetherE
Such days of gladdest thought as here whilomD
We spent amid the change of earthly weatherE
-
No white young day like hope smiles in yon eastF
Or westering cleaves wild omened scarlet gloomsG
No frosty breezes wreathe your woods in mistH
No breaker o'er Heaven's glassy ocean boomsG
-
No scents of delv d dewy soil ariseG
No storm blue pall in state hangs hill or leaI
No nightly seas swirl in grey agoniesG
Nor old Earth's sweet decays dye herb or treeI
-
Do wan gold tints shot on the midnight airJ
Herald the moon that loiters far awayA
Or moony sea gleams peep and beckon thereJ
From sapphire dark or mystic silver greyA
-
No not the olden pleasure shall be thereJ
We knew before the grass sprang o'er your breastK
Yet that is yours which here hearts cannot shareJ
Heaven's summer peace eterne and noonday restK
