| Grant heav'n that I may chuse my bliss | B |
| If you design me worldly Happiness | C |
| Tis not Honour thats but air | D |
| Glory has but fancied light | E |
| Fame as oft speak's false as right | E |
| Riches have wings ever dwell with care | D |
| Give me an undistemperd mind | F |
| As ye third region undisturbd by wind | F |
| Content from passions ever free | G |
| to rule ones selfs indeed a monarchy | G |
| this I request of thee | G |
| - | |
| Tho all we see are fortunes apes | H |
| change as oft as she their shapes | H |
| Tho my kinder fortune leave me | G |
| Tho my dearest friends deceive me | G |
| I in this universall tide | I |
| firm on heav'ns mercy would abide | I |
| 'mongst ye giddy waves securely ride | I |
| Tho they should die | J |
| Who never did my love abuse | K |
| Perhaps in tears I would my passion vent | L |
| But straight again I'de be content | L |
| Remembring 'twas th' almighty's deed tho I | J |
| should my best relations loose | K |
| Ide sighing cry Heav'ns will be done | M |
| It did but lend them now it has its own | N |
| Fortune should never be | G |
| Adored as a deity by me | G |
| She onely makes them fooles who make her great | O |
| But still content on earth intent on heav'n I'de be | G |
| an equall temper keep in ev'ry state | O |
| nor Care nor fear my destiny | G |
| Death when most dreadfull should not fright | E |
| Wn ere he comes Ide patiently submitt | E |
| Content thus in my soul should build its halcyons nest | E |
| As did thy spirit on ye waters rest | E |
| keep an everlasting calm with in my breast | E |
