Metr: Boetius 1s 1 Quisquis Comp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCBBDDEFGGHIAABB

The Man whose mind actions still SedateA
Can bravely triumph ore ye thoughts of fateA
He who unaltered fortunes Changes brookesB
Without elated or dejected lookesB
With a fixd carriage undaunted soulC
Shall see ye oceans boiling surges rollC
Vesuvius flames in smoaky pillars riseB
bolts of thunder dart from opening skysB
Why dread we wretched mankind tell me whyD
When the vain threats of tyrants idely flyD
Weigh all things right as in themselves they areE
Unlearn your minds to move by hope fearF
With in yr breast lett resolution reignG
all their baffled forces act in vainG
But he who servily can wish or grieveH
For that which is not in his powr to giveI
Casts off the firmness wch shoud make him greatA
the strongest shield we can oppose to fateA
letts inclinations grow thus he weavesB
Those very bonds which keep us passions slavesB
