For Philip Ridgate Esq. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGEEHHHI IBBBBEE

To friend with fingers quick limberA
I send this piece of tunefull timberA
that as 'tis said in Orpheus storyB
He may teach trees to dance a BoryB
Or else in modern Phrase more knavishC
He may the heart of broomstick ravishC
The man whose parts in Taverns shineD
Doates on the merry pipe of wineD
he who late has got his pate fullE
perceives the water pipe is gratefullE
But these are pipes that still are muteF
there is some musick in a fluteF
Which since I as a present sendG
the presents worth to recommendG
Ile in soft words its praises warbleE
translated from Italian marbleE
'When ere we hear its strains closesH
'Enchanted reason sweetly dozesH
'on laps of nymphs beds of rosesH
'the Soul that all its charms admiresI
'for lodgings in the ear enquiresI
'Gay pictures do the Fancy storeB
' passions felt but heard no moreB
All that my author says is trueB
When th' instrument is playd by youB
least you think I came by this illE
Splut her was preed her from a whistleE
