Look mercyfully down O LordA
wash us from our sinnB
Cleanse us from wicked deeds withoutC
from wicked thoughts withinB
Lord I Confess my many sinnsD
that I against thee doeE
Each minute they're before my faceD
wound my soul anewF
So Great my god my ills have beenB
Gainst thee onely theeG
Thy Justice tho' I were CondemndE
would good righteous beeG
For att my birth I wickednessD
Did with my breath suck inB
But thou shalt teach me in thy waysD
keep me pure from sinnB
Thoult me with hyssopp purge who amH
all over soil's stain'sD
Thou with thy sanctifiyng graceD
shalt wash make me cleanI
Thoult bless my days with peace no soundE
But Joy shall reach mine earJ
That where thy Justice wounded LordE
There Gladness may appearK
Blott from thy thoughts past faults fromL
The present turn thy faceD
O make my spirit right goodE
Confirm my heart with graceD
thy Presence thy mercy lettE
Me ever Ld possessD
Me with the comfort of thy helpM
with thy love still blessD
Then shall the wicked know thy pow'rN
turn ym from theyr wayesD
Deliver me from blood my godE
I will sing thy praiseD
Unseal my lips to ye BadE
I will thy mercy shewF
For since thou lovest not sacrificeD
Tis all that I can dooF
A heart that is with sorrow pierctF
My God thou wilt receiveO
this is ye sweetest offeringP
that we to thee can giveQ
On Sion Graciously look downR
Preserve us still we prayS
hearts upon thine altars LordF
Instead of beasts we'el LayS
