While Gazing On The Moon's Light Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEEDFGFG HIHJKKLMMLNONO

While gazing on the moon's lightA
A moment from her smile I turn'dB
To look at orbs that more brightA
In lone and distant glory burn'dB
But too farC
Each proud starC
For me to feel its warming flameD
Much more dearE
That mild sphereE
Which near our planet smiling cameD
Thus Mary be but thou my ownF
While brighter eyes unheeded playG
I'll love those moonlight looks aloneF
That bless my home and guide my wayG
-
The day had sunk in dim showersH
But midnight now with lustre meetI
Illumined all the pale flowersH
Like hope upon a mourner's cheekJ
I said whileK
The moon's smileK
Play'd o'er a stream in dimpling blissL
The moon looksM
On many brooksM
The brook can see no moon but thisL
And thus I thought our fortunes runN
For many a lover looks to theeO
While oh I feel there is but oneN
One Mary in the world for meO
