Were Not The Sinful Mary's Tears. (air.--stevenson.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDEFGFG HIHJ KBKB

Were not the sinful Mary's tearsA
An offering worthy HeavenB
When o'er the faults of former yearsC
She wept and was forgivenB
-
When bringing every balmy sweetD
Her day of luxury storedE
She o'er her Saviour's hallowed feetD
The precious odors pouredE
And wiped them with that golden hairF
Where once the diamond shoneG
Tho' now those gems of grief were thereF
Which shine for GOD aloneG
-
Were not those sweets so humbly shedH
That hair those weeping eyesI
And the sunk heart that inly bledH
Heaven's noblest sacrificeJ
-
Thou that hast slept in error's sleepK
Oh would'st thou wake in HeavenB
Like Mary kneel like Mary weepK
Love much and be forgivenB
