War Against Babylon. (air.--novello.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDE FGFGHIHIE

War against Babylon shout we aroundA
Be our banners through earth unfurledB
Rise up ye nations ye kings at the soundA
War against Babylon shout thro' the worldB
Oh thou that dwellest on many watersC
Thy day of pride is ended nowD
And the dark curse of Israel's daughtersC
Breaks like a thundercloud over thy browD
War war war against BabylonE
-
Make bright the arrows and gather the shieldsF
Set the standard of God on highG
Swarm we like locusts o'er all her fieldsF
Zion our watchword and vengeance our cryG
Woe woe the time of thy visitationH
Is come proud land thy doom is castI
And the black surge of desolationH
Sweeps o'er thy guilty head at lastI
War war war against BabylonE
