To-day, Dearest! Is Ours Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHDHD

To day dearest is oursA
Why should Love carelessly lose itB
This life shines or lowersA
Just as we weak mortals use itB
'Tis time enough when its flowers decayC
To think of the thorns of SorrowD
And Joy if left on the stem to dayC
May wither before to morrowD
-
Then why dearest so longE
Let the sweet moments fly overF
Tho' now blooming and youngG
Thou hast me devoutly thy loverF
Yet Time from both in his silent lapseH
Some treasure may steal or borrowD
Thy charms may be less in bloom perhapsH
Or I less in love to morrowD
