Tho' 'tis All But A Dream. (french Air.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDDEFFEG HHHHDDIDDIG

Tho' 'tis all but a dream at the bestA
And still when happiest soonest o'erB
Yet even in a dream to be blestA
Is so sweet that I ask for no moreC
The bosom that opesD
With earliest hopesD
The soonest finds those hopes untrueE
As flowers that firstF
In spring time burstF
The earliest wither tooE
Ay 'tis all but a dream etcG
-
Tho' by friendship we oft are deceivedH
And find love's sunshine soon o'ercastH
Yet friendship will still be believedH
And love trusted on to the lastH
The web 'mong the leavesD
The spider weavesD
Is like the charm Hope hangs o'er menI
Tho' often she seesD
'Tis broke by the breezeD
She spins the bright tissue againI
Ay 'tis all but a dream etcG
