The Young May Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBACCDDC AAEEACCFFC

The young May moon is beaming loveA
The glow worm's lamp is gleaming loveA
How sweet to roveB
Through Morna's groveB
When the drowsy world is dreaming loveA
Then awake the heavens look bright my dearC
'Tis never too late for delight my dearC
And the best of all waysD
To lengthen our daysD
Is to steal a few hours from the night my dearC
-
Now all the world is sleeping loveA
But the Sage his star watch keeping loveA
And I whose starE
More glorious farE
Is the eye from that casement peeping loveA
Then awake till rise of sun my dearC
The Sage's glass we'll shun my dearC
Or in watching the flightF
Of bodies of lightF
He might happen to take thee for one my dearC
