The Turf Shall Be My Fragrant Shrine. (air.--stevenson.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHH IIJK LLDD MMNN

The turf shall be my fragrant shrineA
My temple LORD that Arch of thineA
My censer's breath the mountain airsB
And silent thoughts my only prayersB
-
My choir shall be the moonlight wavesC
When murmuring homeward to their cavesC
Or when the stillness of the seaD
Even more than music dreams of TheeD
-
I'll seek by day some glade unknownE
All light and silence like thy ThroneE
And the pale stars shall be at nightF
The only eyes that watch my riteF
-
Thy Heaven on which 'tis bliss to lookG
Shall be my pure and shining bookG
Where I shall read in words of flameH
The glories of thy wondrous nameH
-
I'll read thy anger in the rackI
That clouds awhile the day beam's trackI
Thy mercy in the azure hueJ
Of sunny brightness breaking thro'K
-
There's nothing bright above belowL
From flowers that bloom to stars that glowL
But in its light my soul can seeD
Some feature of thy DeityD
-
There's nothing dark below aboveM
But in its gloom I trace thy LoveM
And meekly wait that moment whenN
Thy touch shall turn all bright againN
