The Song Of Fionnuala Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD CECECFCF

Silent oh Moyle be the roar of thy waterA
Break not ye breezes your chain of reposeB
While murmuring mournfully Lir's lonely daughterA
Tell's to the night star her tale of woesB
When shall the swan her death note singingC
Sleep with wings in darkness furl'dD
When will heaven its sweet bell ringingC
Call my spirit from this stormy worldD
-
Sadly oh Moyle to thy winter wave weepingC
Fate bids me languish long ages awayE
Yet still in her darkness doth Erin lie sleepingC
Still doth the pure light its dawning delayE
When will that day star mildly springingC
Warm our isle with peace and loveF
When will heaven its sweet bell ringingC
Call my spirit to the fields aboveF
