The Shrine. To ...... Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEFFGGHH

My fates had destined me to roveA
A long long pilgrimage of loveB
And many an altar on my wayC
Has lured my pious steps to stayC
For if the saint was young and fairD
I turned and sung my vespers thereD
This from a youthful pilgrim's fireE
Is what your pretty saints requireE
To pass nor tell a single beadF
With them would be profane indeedF
But trust me all this young devotionG
Was but to keep my zeal in motionG
And every humbler altar pastH
I now have reached THE SHRINE at lastH
