The Shrine. To ...... Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEFFGGHH| My fates had destined me to rove | A |
| A long long pilgrimage of love | B |
| And many an altar on my way | C |
| Has lured my pious steps to stay | C |
| For if the saint was young and fair | D |
| I turned and sung my vespers there | D |
| This from a youthful pilgrim's fire | E |
| Is what your pretty saints require | E |
| To pass nor tell a single bead | F |
| With them would be profane indeed | F |
| But trust me all this young devotion | G |
| Was but to keep my zeal in motion | G |
| And every humbler altar past | H |
| I now have reached THE SHRINE at last | H |
