The Russian Lover Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGHGHIJIJ CDCD

Fleetly o'er the moonlight snowsA
Speed we to my lady's bowerB
Swift our sledge as lightning goesA
Nor shall stop till morning's hourB
Bright my steed the northern starC
Lights us from yon jewelled skiesD
But to greet us brighter farC
Morn shall bring my lady's eyesD
Lovers lulled in sunny bowersE
Sleeping out their dream of timeF
Know not half the bliss that's oursE
In this snowy icy climeF
Like yon star that livelier gleamsG
From the frosty heavens aroundH
Love himself the keener beamsG
When with snows of coyness crownedH
Fleet then on my merry steedI
Bound my sledge o'er hill and daleJ
What can match a lover's speedI
See 'tis daylight breaking paleJ
Brightly hath the northern starC
Lit us from yon radiant SkiesD
But behold how brighter farC
Yonder shine my lady's eyesD
