The Meeting Of The Ships Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEF GHIJ

When o'er the silent seas aloneA
For days and nights we've cheerless goneB
Oh they who've felt it know how sweetC
Some sunny morn a sail to meetC
-
Sparkling at once is every eyeD
Ship ahoy our joyful cryD
While answering back the sounds we hearE
Ship ahoy what cheer what cheerF
-
-
Then sails are backed we nearer comeG
Kind words are said of friends and homeH
And soon too soon we part with painI
To sail o'er silent seas againJ
