O'er mountains brightA
With snow and lightA
We Crystal Hunters speed alongB
While rocks and cavesC
And icy waresD
Each instant echo to our songB
And when we meet with store of gemsE
We grudge not kings their diademsE
O'er mountains brightA
With snow and lightA
We Crystal Hunters speed alongB
While grots and cavesE
And icy wavesE
Each instant echo to our songB
-
Not half so oft the lover dreamsE
Of sparkles from his lady's eyesE
As we of those refreshing gleamsE
That tell where deep the crystal liesE
Tho' next to crystal we too grantF
That ladies' eyes may most enchantF
O'er mountains bright etcG
-
Sometimes when on the Alpine roseE
The golden sunset leaves its rayH
So like a gem the floweret glowsE
We hither bend our headlong wayH
And tho' we find no treasure thereI
We bless the rose that shines so fairI
O'er mountains brightA
With snow and lightA
We Crystal Hunters speed alongB
While rocks and cavesE
And icy wavesE
Each instant echo to our songB
